Host Tarik Abdullah kicks off our journey around the Emerald State with a taste of Seattle’s classics: coffee, seafood, teriyaki, and late-night burgers at the beloved Dick’s Drive-In. In Part 2 of our Guide to Washington, Tarik travels across the Puget Sound to sample some of Washington’s strangest seafood. First, Tarik stops by Pier 57 in downtown Seattle to meet some Seattleites who are redefining local seafood by fishing—or "jigging"—for squid right off the pier. Then, after an impressive meal of geoduck crudo prepared by Chef Michael Gifford at How to Cook a Wolf in the Queen Anne neighborhood, we head to the southern Puget Sound in the dead of night to see firsthand how these phallic clams are raised in the waters just offshore. Finally, we visit the historical Nordic town of Poulsbo on the Kitsap peninsula for a taste of lutefisk, the traditional dish of Norway with a nasty rep. We've wanted to do the Underground Tour in Seattle for a long time, but just never made time for it. So we arranged a long layover in Seattle so we could drop down and experience Seattle beneath the streets. *Not Sponsored.* I heard about this when I was up on the Space Needle and I've wanted to do it for years. The tour was different than we anticipated (we thought the entire thing would be underground and it'd be a labyrinth of connected tunnels). It's actually just three or four sections that are near each other, but you walk on street level and then down stairs to access each one. The tour is very interesting. The history of Seattle is fascinating. Our tour guide, Carla, was very personable and knew the answer to every question we could throw at her. Overall it was a great way to sp...

Overall it was a great way to spend an hour or so. Here's a link to their site if you want to take the tour: https://www.beneath-the-streets.com/ Music is Royalty free: "All Natural" by Julian Avila https://theartistunion.com/tracks/80cd76 Filmed May 11, 2017 on a Canon G7X Mark II. --- Our Gear: Canon G7X Mark II: http://amzn.to/2nDh9UH (it’s amazing and basically sees in the dark) Canon G7X: http://amzn.to/2mMmPrd (the original is almost as good, but less expensive) Joby Gorillapod: http://amzn.to/2n6m92y (fantastic versatile bendy tripod – this is the slightly smaller “action” version that’s easier to travel with and comes with a mount for a camera and a gopro) Macbook Air: http://amzn.to/2n6rPtc (we edit everything on Final Cut Pro on a Macbook Air, which is light and easy to travel with) External Hard Drive: http://amzn.to/2nD6o4F (the videos are a little too big for the macbook air to handle, so I edit everything off an external hard drive) --- About PerfectLittlePlanet: Subscribe for (almost) daily videos of new experiences in New York City and around the world.
